Rīts ar tautasdziesmu “Visi sīki kukainīši” is a traditional folk-song event in Sigulda, at the Krišjānis Barons Monument, on 30 October 2026. Preschool children from Sigulda Municipality, their teachers and representatives of the Turaida Museum Reserve will mark Krišjānis Barons’ 191st birthday together. This year’s theme is biodiversity and the world of insects: children will explore ladybirds, bees, ants, beetles, dragonflies, flies, butterflies, grasshoppers, fireflies and fleas. The programme includes performances by preschools, folk songs, fairy tales, sayings and the traditional game “Kas dārzā”. Visitors can match folk-song lines written on wooden boards and discover how insects appear in Latvian folklore and traditions. The event takes place as part of a Latvian Environmental Protection Fund project.
