Piemiņas brīdis Lāčplēša Kara ordeņa kavalierim virsleitnantam Žanim Ķincim is a memorial event at Sigulda Cemetery in Sigulda on 11 November 2026. On Lāčplēša Day at 13:00, Žanis Ķincis will be commemorated. He served in the 2nd Riga Latvian Riflemen Regiment, took part in the Kalpaks Battalion’s fighting and was seriously wounded in the battle near Kaugurciems on 18 May 1919, losing both eyes. Participants will include Sigulda Municipality Council Chair Linards Kumskis, Deputy Chair Ance Kaimiņa, retired National Guard General Gundars Ābols, historian Ieva Kvāle, National Guard members and civic organisations. In 1920, Ķincis was awarded the Lāčplēsis War Order for military service.
