Pētera Krilova filma SARKANAIS ŠĶŪNIS ǀ Mākslinieka Raimonda Staprāna portrets is a documentary film at Tukuma pilsētas Kultūras nams in Tukums on 20 November 2026. In a poetic canvas of history and the present, film and theatre director Pēteris Krilovs portrays Latvian émigré artist Raimonds Staprāns, bringing together the personal and the political. The film asks about an artist’s responsibility before history and presents Staprāns as a painter, playwright and thinker. San Francisco colour, the Latvian palette, acted cinema and documentary textures meet in the film. Historical figures are brought to life by actors Imants Strads, Kaspars Zvīgulis and others.
