The interdisciplinary cultural event "Voice of Lake Māras. Into the Depths" takes place by Lake Māras and brings together contemporary art, science, and the local community. The programme features music, performance, dance, and environmental exploration, focusing on water as a significant element of Pārdaugava’s nature, cultural heritage, and urban landscape. Activities include creative and scientific workshops for children and adults on the lake’s ecosystem in collaboration with the Latvian Institute of Aquatic Ecology. Residents and historians will discuss the past, present, and future of the lake and Mārupīte, as well as water quality and sustainability of city waters. The evening continues with the concert performance "What Does Water Know?", a performance by the Jēkabs Nīmanis Quartet, a concert by the group Tante Gaida, and an ambient and experimental set by Spāre Vītola by the lake. A café will be open during the event, and visitors can rent watercraft to enjoy concerts on the water.
