Dokumentālā īsfilma “Par kamanām, virāžām un dzīvi” is a film event in Ikšķile at Ikšķile Library on 13 November 2026 at 18:00. The premiere tells the story of local resident Dainis Bremze — the 1978 World Champion in doubles luge together with Aigars Kriķis, a participant in the Winter Olympic Games, three-time USSR champion and president of the Latvian Luge Sport Federation from 1998 to 2001. The film explores the energy of young athletes, the joy of movement, parental support and the training tracks built by hand in Ikšķile. It also traces the beginnings of luge sport in Latvia and the opportunities and challenges faced by athletes and coaches. The film was made by Ikšķile Cultural Association in collaboration with Jurģis Kreilis and Ieva Kaņepe.
