Concert “Singing to the World”

The concert will feature choral works by American, British, German, and Latvian composers that have been particularly important to both choirs this season. Performing will be the North Rhine-Westphalia Youth Choir (Landesjugendchor NRW), conducted by Nicolas Fink, bringing together about 50 talented singers aged 16 to 27. The choir's lineup is carefully selected for each project, focusing on developing vocal skills and exploring music from different eras and styles—from J. S. Bach to contemporary genres, including beatboxing. The choir holds regular rehearsal sessions, masterclasses, and collaborates with guest conductors and other choirs. The mixed choir “Dziesmuvara” of the University of Latvia (conductors Nora Žeigure and Oskars Freimanis) unites choral music enthusiasts of different generations, developing vocal skills and implementing diverse musical projects. Its repertoire spans Latvian choral classics, contemporary, and foreign popular music. “Dziesmuvara” regularly participates in concerts, competitions, festivals, and song festivals in Latvia and abroad.
